Bengal cats and Charcoal colour

The foundation cats of the Bengal breed were hybrids of the domestic cat and the Asian Leopard Cat (ALC) (Prionailurus bengalensis). Some Bengals have a darker coat colour and dark face mask and dorsal stripe, these are termed Charcoal. Charcoal colour is the result of the ALC Agouti gene (Apb) combined with the domestic cat non-agouti gene (a).

I was introduced to my first charcoal Bengal in 2014, and was chortly after that lucky enough to acquiring Cimba, which was my first charcoal bengal. The interest for charcoal has grown bigger since then, and has become my great passion. They are so amazing and unique like any other bengal, and I think that it shows more of the wild side in the bengal. Hence my breeding will only focus on Charcoal Bengals in different colors.
